Fake Credit Card Charge For Subscription. Contains Fake Invoice (Usually Amazon or Apple)

This SCAM involves sending you a vague email that insinuates that your credit card has been charged [Order Payment Received] and also throws out a statement indicating that the charge is for a “Subscription”.  Telling you that it is for a “Subscription” is intened to suggest to you that the credit card charges will continue if you don’t perform any action and it is a ploy for you to click on the link and attempt to cancel the Subscription.

We have not delved into the link that is contained inthe PDF, but we suspect that most likely it is a phishing attempt to either get you to re-enter your ccard billing information or possibly attempt to harvest a password from you or even to automatially download a harmful file to your PC.

The Emails usually pretend to come from either Apple or Amazon… but they can be maniplated to appear from any other business.

The fake subscription is usually related to some sort of Music or Software.  This phishing attempt is particularly effective with people who have kids and they think that it is possible that the child may have signed up for something without parental authorization.

The emails usually look something like this…

The invoice that is inside usually looks something like this…
